R.C. Flight InstructionIf you are new to the RC community, then flight training is probably one of your questions.Flight training is provided free of charge to members as well as visitors who would like to give it a try. The club has 2 aircraft that are used exclusively for flight training, so even if you don’t have an airplane just yet, you can still learn to fly on one of ours! Experienced R.C. instructors will help you
develop your skills in a safe step by step process. Visitors are always
welcome, so join in the fun and take an introductory flight at the club's
field.
WHEN??
Our flight instructors volunteer their time to provide you with the training you need. We use “buddy boxes” to make flight training easier. ![]() A “buddy box” is second transmitter that is attached by a special cable to the first transmitter that the instructor always has in his hands. When he presses a button on the radio, the controls are transferred to the student who is flying on the second transmitter. If there is ever a problem, the instructor simply takes his finger off the button thus returning control to him So come out and join us!! NEED DIRECTIONS? CLICK HERE: Need an instructor?? Contact any one of these instructors who will be more than happy to help you out:
1) Sig Kadet LT40: This is probably the best trainer avialble for beginners. Club members who have yet to acquire thier own aircraft and visitors are welcome to use the club aircraft ![]() 2)Thunder Tiger 40 Trainer: As you are aware, the club trainers are to be used for
introductory flights as well as for the use of club members who have yet
to get their own aircraft. There is one flight restriction though, and
that is that they are not to be used for take-off and/or landing
instruction. Last year a vendor at the swap meet donated a well used but
still airworthy trainer to the club. Last winter, Club Member Steve
Cullham donated a 40 size engine, and just this week, I received a box
containing radio gear and some other hardware donated by club member
Frank Richter. Thanks to these gentlemen, and a little work, this
aircraft is now ready to fly. 3) Hirobo Shuttle
Helicopter
