New to Remote Control flight?

We will show you how to fly.

If you are new to the RC community, then flight training is probably one of your questions.

Flight training is provided free of charge to members as well as visitors who would like to give it a try. The club has 2 aircraft that are used exclusively for flight training, so even if you don’t have an airplane just yet, you can still learn to fly on one of ours!

Experienced R.C. instructors will help you develop your skills in a safe step by step process.

Visitors are always welcome, so join in the fun and take an introductory flight at the club’s field.

When?

Every Wednesday 5:30pm until dark

Fixed Wing Aircraft

Flight training is conducted every Wednesday afternoon from May to October from 5:30pm until dark. But don’t let that be the only time you fly. Our instructors love this hobby and fly whenever they can, especially the weekends. Just contact one of our instructors here and they would be more than happy to set up a date and time for you to come out and get some free instruction.

Our flight instructors volunteer their time to provide you with the training you need. We use “buddy boxes” to make flight training easier.

Helicopter

For helicopter students we offer heli training every Monday afternoon from May to October from 5:30pm until dark.

Buddy Box

A “buddy box” is a second transmitter that is attached by a special cable to the first transmitter that the instructor always has in his hands. When he presses a button on the radio, the controls are transferred to the student who is flying on the second transmitter. If there is ever a problem, the instructor simply takes his finger off the button thus returning control to him.

So come on out to our flying field and join us!

Need an instructor?

Contact any one of these instructors who will be more than happy to help you out:

Aircraft Line-up

These are the club owned aircraft that are available for members and guests to use.

Sig Kadet LT40

This is probably the best trainer available for beginners. Club members who have yet to acquire their own aircraft and visitors are welcome to use the club aircraft.

Alpha 40

An equally capable flier, the Alpha 40 has the same gentle flight characteristics of the Kadet LT 40. This new edition to our fleet was in the summer of 2011.

For Experienced Flyers

This looks cool, and more experienced fliers can fly this well!

For Indoor Flying

This Hobbyzone Sport Cub S is small enough to fly in the gym during our indoor sessions.
